Friday evening attended a interesting talk by a TCS person who talked about Project Ignite -- through this they are brining people from Tier 3 and tier 3 cities to Chennai and making them employable as software professionals-- These are not engineers but graduates from the science forum and over a intense training that lasts seven months , they people are ready to be working as junior programmers --The project started in Dec 2006 has churned out more than 2000 people and it TCS's intent to start such training centres all over India -- good thing about is that people from low rung cities get opportunity and also costs come down for the company- of course , there is a entrance test that one needs to pass to get in to the program -- But the moral is hire for attitude and make them skilled for the job

EPL -- the start
