The stage is set for the final two matches to decided the winner of the EPL league for this season . ManU played better than Spurs ( Spurs had the momentum going in to this match having beat Arsenal and Chelsea ) and won comfortably in the end to put the pressure back on Chelsea . Chelsea responded magnificently by thrashing Stoke 7-0 to keep their one point lead over ManU . Chelsea also enjoys a good goal advantage over ManU and this may help them as well. They have a tough match coming up over this week end . They play a wounded Liverpool which may play truant to their title hopes. Nerve wracking is the way to describe the way league is going to finish this year and it has been too close
The IPL
CSK against all my expectations , got over their round robin nightmares , performed in the semi final and then outwitted Sachin and the Mumbai Indians to lift the trophy. The toss was a critical factor and Dhoni won that . But the going was not that easy. With Hayden trying to play himself in , pressure was on the others to score not just fast but score to make up for Hayden's slowness. That lead to the downfall of his partner Vijay who was striking the ball cleanly. Raina turned it around with great help from Mumbai Indian fielders - Dilhara , Nayar and Zaheer .. You cannot drop any batsmen twice and get away and that too in the final . A competitive 168 to defend was what CSK scored.
MI with Sachin batting his finder injury was within a chance until a strange tactic messed them up. Why on earth did they send in Pollard so late ? Tactic ? Mistake or MF ? make the match exciting ?
Pollard was explosive and nearly caught up with CSK until a innovative field placing by Dhoni did him in . Hayden ( the catcher ) was expecting the catch as he and Morkel the bowler chatted before the ball that got Pollard was delivered. Forget all the mess that Hayden created. This was a match winning catch !!

I had a visiting friend from Mumbai on Sunday morning and he confirmed that CSK is the winner - Aree yaar , CSK is the winner-- why are so excited about the match was his remark . It was typical Mumbaikar's convincing remark. He also told why the Banglore match with RCB was shifted to Mumbai and for a moment the way he spoke , I thought he was the one who did it !! How on earth was he correct ?
Suddenly once the tournament ended , you find plenty of time available to your self !!
Dhoni's post match chat was also interesting if you did not take him literally !!
He said Mr Srinivasan the Owner of CSK was confident of the team 's success and Dhoni asked him how he was confident when he ( Dhoni ) was not sure ? I leave this for the dreamers to conclude !!
I wanted to avoid writing on the Modi episode . But but … some comments
I watched interviews by Preity Zinta , Dr Mallaya on this subject and they have their views and strongly support Modi .
There are lot of strange things that cannot accepted. Examples statement by BCCI" All documents on bidding etc., missing " Oh common.. The value of these bids were so large that one would believe that good governance structures have been established. When the money is big and everyone gets interested , I believe it gets out of hand .
In India every now and then we get news of some scam or the other .. And all these scams are not small ones. Big numbers ..to my recollection , the investigations have never got to the scamsters nor to the money. Anyone betting on where all the money is ?
