Chennaiyil Oru Naal ( One Day in Chennai ) Tamil Movie

This remake movie from the Malayalam movie “Traffic” was neat. I liked the movie for many things .

1. Short and Sweet – The movie is only for two hours and that is a big plus. To me that is the apt time for any movie – Else it plays on to your patience—so many movies have a song sequence when you think the movie  is going to end  and then followed by a final climax fight !

2. Just one song on the movie –

3. No fight sequence- what a relief –My body was in shape at the end of the movie so was the ear drum

4. Direct narration

5. Neatness of each role – Prakash Raj as the Super Actor not knowing things happening at home , Cheran ( Did he not look like one of those Traffic Cops ? ) , Sarath Kumar ( you cannot get a fitter Commissioner of Police )… Surya doing a small cameo .. everyone did their part.. I liked the Hero the most ( no prizes for guessing why and the hero itself )

6. The Social cause and the big message that the movie sends across…

Although a remake , the script work was excellent leading you to think it is Original unless someone points out. The second half was fact paced ( just like a F1 race ). The biggest attraction was the vehicle that is used in the movie – made by a Company that I have been associated for the past seventeen years and more ( I yearned to join this great company some years earlier , so call it a decade of passion ). The Ford Endeavour rides the highway , screeches to a halt in muddy terrain non challanlty , goes through narrow lanes , by lanes – rides the distance at high speed  in time to ensure the Organ that is donated reaches the donee on time . What an awesome vehicle and to view it on the Big Screen for close to 70 minutes was just a nice feeling. It was an extension of work with  viewing pleasure.

Watch the movie .. it keeps your pulse racithng and if you are an Ford Endeavour Fan , you will be proud when you drive out from the Car parking lot after the movie. I was one when I drove out and it looked to me as the entire world was watching me and the vehicle ! Such was the impression, the hero ( Read Endeavour ) of the movie created on everyone.

PS :  This is my 275th Post and was my narration not short as the movie itself ?

Congratulations sri on your 275th post and many more to come. I liked the hero too. En endeavour became en-dearer after watching the movie. Mine is white though. I liked the dialogue by Viyayakumar. To say no takes no effort.. to say yes makes history.

Crisp and nice, like a molaga bajji on an overcast day! :)
275 is a stunning number! Sri you rock! and as effervescent as ever, incidentally, i heard this movie is based on an original incident that happened in TN, so the malayalam movie was made based on this incident and tamil version is the remake

Nice post! I loved the Malayalam movie, Traffic. It was crisp, gripping and entertaining - everything that a movie needs to be. For me the movie was about good human values and how the world conspires to make sure a good thing is accomplished.

Sri - The script is by the original script writers themselves, Sanjay & Bobby (brothers). I have not watched the Tamil version, so not sure if any changes were made to accommodate the difference in audience taste (never sure what that means ?).

Sri, Congrats to you for 275th post.

i don't watch movies often. But thought of watching this as our Endeoavour also playing a role in this movie.
your post pushes me to watch this movie.

one thought, in Vetaiyadu Vilayadu "Tata Sumo Victa" was used by Kamal and they used this as an advertisement. how about we using Eco sport to feature in any upcoming movie and reach customers.
