Gettogether by Kids
It was a event that we would not have thought about at that age- Nine kids ( all girls ) in our flat decided to have a get together on account of Krishna jayanthi -- ages ranged from the least at 3 years to the eldest at 11 years -- What was impressive was the way they organised for it - A neat menu was written up and each kid got to his home the list and the particular item that she was to bring for the dinner - also there were games planned and selected parents ( only mothers ) were made as judges for various events such as Antakshari. Passing the ball etc etc.,-- The event started bang on time at 6:30 and ended at 8:30-- it was great to see the kids enjoy ( I was not allowed to watch , so heard the event description from my wife )-- Times change and kids thinking and capablity to do things change -- What I was impressed was the spark that made the get together and do the event --
Olympics
The grand fan fare ended and it saw the emergence of China as a super power in sports as they lead the medal onslaught and pushed the USA to the second spot with consumate ease-- All things improved but one cannot improve DD -- the coverage , quality of commentary -- The commentary at most times was pathetic as the commentators ( our own who interjected the original audio ) did not know about the event , the kind of people who were participating and the depth -- this made watching depressing -- When the Basketball final was on ( with US with its NBA stars ) DD was showing boxing , handball events !!
Formula one
The road circuit at Valencia was new and had its thrills and frills -- The race confirmed the slow decline in the motivation of Kimi -- the world champion of 2007- Kimi did not have any fire or power in the Saturday qualifying and was placed fourth on the starting grid-- Massa who had a heart breaking engine blow out in the closing stages of the Hungarian GP was fired up and clinched the pole ahead of Hamilton-- The race saw Massa drive without any mistakes and it was no surprise that he ended up the winner- Kimi had a miserable second out stop and one the mechanics was dragged by the car with the fule nozzle stuck in the car-- two laps later , Kimi;s engine blew out concluding a poor week end and also opening up a 13 point lead to Hamilton with six races to go-- Looks like Massa can challenge Hamilton as he is behind by six points - There are also rumours of Kimi moving out of Ferrari and Alonso joining Ferrari-- Intersting days ahead
