What a week end of Football it was -- On Saturday had to watch Liverpool play with Fulham and hope they loose or draw !! That is what fans like us do when your own team needs help ! It nearly went that way ,but Liverpool squeezed a goal in extra time and moved up to the leadership position but only for a period of time --
Sunday had ManU playing AstonVilla who have lost their last five matches and ManU themselves their last two and had enough problems in fielding a competitive eleven due to suspensions and injuries -- This hurt ManU terribly in the match -- ManU opened the scoring but Villa was up by two goals as the ManU defence was out of sorts with Ferdinand out due to injury and Vidic due to suspension-- time and again the Villa forwards tore the defence apart by ManU survived -- What does desperation do- It bring out Desperate measures -- Sir Alex ( ManU Manager for many years ) introduced untried 17 year old Italian Macheda in to the attack -- The youngster is very well built and plays the centre forward role -- With time ticking away , the loss would have put the title chances in serious jeopardy-- Ronaldo manage a equalizer in the 80th minute through his brilliance -- he scored using his left leg , that is not his strong point -- that prompted the morale of ManU-- they charged the Villa goal and Villa defence became shaky -- then in the extra time , the unheralded Macheda slotted a spectacular goal in the top left of the net and made history -- Final score ManU 3 Villa 2
Sir Alex is known for this -- bringing in young talent and throwing them in to a crisis situation -- Clever thing to do and the fact about Macheda was unknown to the Villa team helped a great deal - Sir Alex admitted that he liked to take risks and sending in the teenager was a big gamble but to all of us it was masterstroke that kept the ManU title chances alive - You will hear more about Macheda --
You will notice in both the matches , the winning goals came in the extra injury time and that shows how close and intense the matches were

After 2003 at Brazil , this was the next race that was stopped due to rain and treacherous track conditions -- Every team's strategy was messed up because of the rains -- Sat's qualifying had seen Brawn team continue its amazing turnaround -- they took the first row of the grid -- And in the race , some teams took to extreme wet tyres anticipating the rain -- But the rain did not come in the first thirty minutes and they had to pit and change to slick tyres -- the rains came again and they had to change again-- Now Ross Brawn has seen all this and he got the tyres right -- In spite of pitting four times in the 32 laps that was covered , Jenson Button ended on the front when the race was stopped -- Since the race was not complete the winners and the teams got only 50 % of the points that they would have got normally-- The peculiar situation in 2009 needs to be looked at -- Amongst the leaders both the Drivers and Constructor , the dominant forces of the previous years are missing -- Both Ferrari and McLaren are not the leaders and this is something that has not happened for sometime -- With just two races completed , it may be too early to conclude - But it is clear that newcomer Brawn along with Toyota , BMW , Williams and Red Bull are going to give hard time to Ferrari and McLaren and this to a race follower is just great ......
