Visitors at Guwhati Zoo on July 3 were surprised to see a beaming Forest Minister Robikul Hussain cutting a cake to the chorus of " Happy Birthday to you ". The birthday girl was one year old Dhun Dhun, a stump - tailed macaque. Children burst in to frolic, as the macaque jovially jumped around and shook hands with the visitors. The occasion was celebrated as Stump - tailed macaque Day.

The villagers of drought hit rural Chhindwara are busy organising frog wedding to propitiate rain gods. Frogs are dressed up as brides and grooms and are sprinkled with vermilion. They are then taken to the nearest pond for the "honeymoon ". The ceremony ends with the villagers chanting prayers and showering flowers to the pond .

It was a great sporting week again with Wimbeldon and football-- ( still sleepy from the late night viewing of Football ) . we have a great champion in Roger Federer who won the Wimbeldon for a record fourth time--He is so unassuming and everyone likes him on the tennis circuit-- It is very difficult to be what Federer is-- Always smiling and being most suave and diplomatic-- there is lesson for leaders in him
