Believe it or not, the Ananthapura temple in Kasargod is guarded by crocodile. Named Babia, it is said to be the local guardian and the messenger of the temple for the past 60 years. But then how can a carnivore reside in a temple ? Babia is a strict veggie; it even spares the fish in the temple pond and eats only what the temple officials offer, usually a gruel made of jaggery and rice

Saturday was movie time with so many known faces-- Sunday , I had arranged a medical camp for children of Seva Samaj home-- It took me most of the Sunday and in the evening , we had my niece do her first carnatic music concert-- was a big thing for the family-- She did very well for her age of nine years , carried herself very well and most importantly sang well to the accompaniments of the violin , Mrudagam and Ghatam-- this was the very girl who a year back, noticing me at home on a Saturday asked me whether I lost my job-- I was a interference to her that day for watching her cartoon channels !
