Nothing is impossible in Bihar. Even the dead and retired Government officials in the state can get promotions. Twenty five of the 48 people who figured in the promotions list of the registration dept in Buxar were dead. It seems even the dead can't rest in peace.

There are many who are passionate about their cars> Narayanswami 64 , the headman of Sivapuram village in thanjavur is one of them > he wanted to be buried with his Morris Minor car which he had bought in 1958. So, when he died his family placed his body in the car, dug a huge grave and buried him with the car.
Project Vidya
I had earlier written about this good project where in our employees had made a syllabus for Students of class IX at the Corporation School , thoraipakkam for English medium language and volunteered to take classes for them. On April 13th, we had a function to felicitate the students who took part in classes-- these classes were held after their school hours on Tue and Friday-- Out of the 40 that enrolled , 18 passed the test-- we also had a small extempore session where they were given short stories in English and asked to translate in to Tamil-- they did well-- all these students are smart and intelligent -- what they lack is the right tools and guidance-
Our team has done wonderfully well to get this started and more such classes ( beginners ) are planned with also higher level for the 18 students that passed- A very satisfying event --
President APJ
Our president is a impressive man -- Some small incidents that came across to me that I thought I should share -- events that speak for him
Two weeks back , Subbdu ( a great music critic-- full name of P.V.Subramaniam ) passed away in Delhi-- He was around 90 years-- Our President is known for his love for Music and knew this critic well-- President paid his last homage well past midnight that day by visiting the house of the deceased. He brought with him Roses from the Mogul Garden to lay on the body-- the President remembered during his earlier visits and conversations with Subbudi about Subbud's request to him " that if he passed away while he was still the president , please get a rose from the Mogul garden"-- This is direct incident since Subbudu's granddaughter is my neighbour and heard the President talk about it
The President also invited around 1500 farmers around the country and motivated them to do better-- The Presidential Palace has a R & D type facility for seeds , etc and the results of the success had to be shared-- So he called the farmers to his home , thanked them for all that they are doing and then took them through what can be done and then as he normally does , took pledges from them-- My Rotary friend ( he is BIG farmer ) had the great occasion to be part of this delegation and shared his experience
One more offer -- if you guys are interested in spending a day at the farm with family, do let me know -- we can all go to this farm ( close to the City -- 45 Mts drive from Gemini arounabout ) and have bath in the pump house , do some agriculture work , etc.,
