The indications from the pre qualifying and the qualifying were different- Kimi Raikonen crashed in the pre qualifying and damaged his car and also shook himself up- The qualifying was a bad- Alonso and Hamilton finished one two for the Mclaren and pushed Massa to third spot . Worst still BMW's Nick Heidfield pushed Raikonen to the fifth place-- One thought the Ferrari's will bounce back in the race on Sunday. Not to be-- Massa after few daring corners with Hamilton retired from the race with a mechanical problem-- Raikonen chugged along to finish third behind Alonso and Hamilton-- Hamilton's lead for the championship is just three points-- Looks like the Ferraris are done for this year !!

It was that man again Roger Federer who won the championship with clinical precision-- It was his fourth US Grand Slam in a row and 12th of his career-- Mind you Federer is nearing 26 and he has achieved all this and Pete Sampras record of 14 Grand Slams beckon him.. Today in the men's tennis there is no competition for the No1 spot-- it is for the second and third spots-- Federer stands tall-- and deserves it for the game he plays-- The only problem is that it is now too predictable and may not augur well for the game-- Hopefully we should see Nadal or Djockvic test him more and raise their games.
