Disrespect to the national flag is always condemnable. More so when the culprit is a policeman. A constable on duty during the recent test match in Kolkota against Pakistan, slapped a spectator and threw the national flag that he was carrying. The cop did not realise his obnoxious acts were being caught on camera. Before things could turn ugly, the constable was suspended.

Humour Club
This month's meeting was as usual excellent-- the Triplicane Chapter honoured Crazy Mohan and his brother Madhu Balaji for their contribution to the theatre and comedy-
-- the surprise packet though was carnatic and serial songs singer Nithyasri Mahadevan-- All of us knew that she sang so well but none knew that she could speak so well and also with humour packed in-- She and kathadi Ramamurthy were the people who talked richly about Crazy and his brother--
The open session was dominated by the kids-- they produced clean humour and were a treat to watch and listen
It was good way to spend a Sunday the morning ( 10 AM to 12 ) -- so I keep encouraging you guys to attend-- The next meeting is on the second Sunday Jan 08 at PS school and the chief guest is Sukhi Sivam and he is great thought provoker and a mass entertainer-

Sorry sri...But for the informaion on Humor club, i did not find this issue very intersting.

You have set a high standards in your earlier issues, that could be a probable reason we started expecting a lot.

Nostalgia of Learning -- 1980 s Watching the 9 PM News on DD

  The news of Gitanjali Aiyar Newsreader  Doordarshan passing away took me back ages – Those were the days , when entertainment through Televisions were sparce – In fact Telecasts itself would commence in the evening by 6 and probably run for a couple of hours. And I do not want to talk about the topics that were telecast.. They would interest no one but the TV set would be on.   What was of great interest to many of us was the English News at 9 PM everyday that would run for 30 minutes and the personalities that hosted it. The First Flight Experience Nostalgic Recollections

  When someone looks at this topic, it is a project assignment for a primary school student at a private school. But bear with me and read on. I was traveling earlier this week, and if someone asked me, : What is on your mind? My response would have been "Nothing ". Such was my state.  But suddenly,  my thoughts went back to July of 1986, when I flew for the first time in my life, and it was a pretty incident-packed journey to get on the flight. I had just joined as an Intern (under the Chartered Accountancy program) and was asked to go to the newly established plant at Hosur and help in "closing the books of Accounts " The company followed an August-to-July timeline for its book closure. I traveled by an overnight bus to Hosur (close to Bengaluru) and reported to the Plant Accounts Officer (a fine gentleman by the name of Noronha).  My assignment was to get the closing stock valued.
