Back to Blogging after a low week !!

Quotable Quotes of the week
A terrorist has no religion. A God fearing Hindu will not kill an innocent Muslim. Similarly , a God fearing Muslim will not kill an innocent Hindu - Nitin Gadkari - BJP President.

I am just a businessman and I have absolutely no idea about the game of Cricket - Mukesh Patel Co Owner of the Kochi IPL team -

I am as disappointed as anybody else. I was living a life of a lie. I tried to stop, but could not. It was just horrific - Tiger Woods Golf Player on his extra marital affairs

Priests all over the world should use cutting edge technology to express themselves- Pope Benedict XVI

The EPL -- Getting very close -- Chelsea loosing Focus ? Arsenal loses ground - ManU maintain Form and Lead at the Top

Chelsea was the team that lost out last week . First in the Championship league , they were dumped out of the tournament by Inter Milan -- Who was the coach of Inter Milan ? -- None other than Jose Mourinho the former coach of Chelsea ( he departed from Chelsea two seasons ago for not winning the Championship league for Chelsea !!). Mourinho must have had a quiet chuckle as Inter Milan knocked Chelsea out of the Championship. But in the media he maintained his poise and talked about Professionalism at play and that he was a professional and all Chelsea players were too !! ( talk about saying things politically correct , Mourinho was spot on )
The defeat at home during the week put Chelsea in to playing without any Confidence at the EPL . Last Sunday ( 21st ) , they played a bad, listless second half against lowly placed Blackburn Rovers and drew 1-1 , dropping two crucial points. This allowed ManU to get to the top . Chelsea picked up threads this week but Arsenal drew and are now four points adrift of the leader ManU. With six games to go , it is going to be nerve wracking finish to the title . We have three of the best managers in business who are going to play strategy to claim the title . Two of them are old foxes in the Epl - Arsene Wenger of Arsenal and Sir Alex of ManU have fought bitter battles in the past . Ancelloti is new to the EPL but not to football . Thrilling and tension filled times for all supporters of the Big three clubs

The Indian IPL -- The story so far

The IPL was back to India after its last year journey to the land of the Safari . Things are as exciting as it was in 2008 when it was first hosted in India . Lalit Modi has retained his magic and is working nickels for this game . The expansion of the teams from eight to ten for 2011 season got the bidding process go crazy . At one time , there was reserve price for the franchisee but the same was removed but still the bidding for Pune and Kochi exceeded the value in excess of the original eight franchises combined. Amazing that in two years the returns expectations from this has changed. Pune went for $ 370 Mils and Kochi for 333.33 Mils $ . "It only shows there is no recession for the IPL and it is on the upswing," thundered Lalit Modi . Okay with more money.

What is new in terms of techie stuff -
You could watch the IPL live on YouTube and also in the Cinema halls - Both are great innovations and last heard the cinema halls were packed to capacity !! It is this innovation and the relation to the business that is going to keep tournaments like IPL going . Latest -- the final will be screened at Lords Live and that is a big deal as well !

On the games played so far , Chennai Super Kings have been the biggest looser so far with Kings Eleven Punjab - While Chennai has been loosing for Cricket reasons , Punjab has been for reasons other than Cricket . They had to deal with Owners separation that necessitated appointing a Captain not close to the co - owner ( read Preity Zinta ) and the star batsmen in question underperforming and so on-- For Chennai , they seem to be doing only one of the two essentials of the game right in their matches. They either bat well or bowl well and that is not good enough to win games !! They need a complete rejig if they are to regain the glory of 2009 or 2009.
The team that has done wonderfully well is the Reliance Industries backed Mumbai Indians . India's Cricketing God Sachin has led them from the front . Sachin has been hungry for success in this form of the game and this has rubbed off to the team as well. They have done all things right so far. They picked up Pollard the big hitting West Indian in the auction and although Pollard has not hit sizable scores , he has done well in his limited time at the crease. Their combo seems to be right and everyone is firing .. Bhajji, Malinga , Sourab Tiwary , Shikar Dhawan and so on .. Sanath Jaysurya is on the bench !!

Another team that has come back after the initial setbacks , is the Shane Warne Coached , led Rajasthan Royals . The team boasts of no great names but all in this team deliver Thunder under Warne's inspirational leadership .
The Challengers led by Kumble are also doing well.
Well if you notice all the three teams doing well have exceptional leaders at the helm. While Kumble and Warne are retired but they lead by example and play inspirational cricket. Sachin does the same although he is still a active Cricketer. Gilchrist does the same . Unfortunately , Sourav for KKR , has not able to create the magic that Kumble and Warne ex cricketers are doing.
For Chennai Super kings , Dhoni's leadership is being tested and the remaining matches will let us know if he is still the Cool man that all of us believe him to be and who delivers when it matters !! Hope CSK bounce back --
