This was not expected -- The Aussies misread the pitch and came up against a inspired India team that could only win- After missing three days of action due to travel ( incl watching the highlights ) sat down on Saturday optimistically to see our team win-- The boys bowled brilliantly in the first session although they got only one wicket that of Ricky Ponting which was so important. They kept the pressure up and ended up winning the test when no one expected them to win- Now what we need is feet on the ground and go for the kill in the next test at Adelaide-- can the boys do it ?/-- yes they can with the amount of expectation they have raised by wining at a place where only the Aussies win at Perth-

India's Sania Mirza went down fighting and she can be proud of the way she lost to a superior player in Venus Williams.. Sania played with nothing to loose against Venus and that helped her quality of play.
Meanwhile the Champion Roger Federer ran in to problems with a unknown Serbian Janko Tipsarvic who played magnificently on the big points to keep the champion under pressure- For Federer's part , he played poorly missing out backhand shots that he would have done with ease on any other day -- Finally the champion hung in , managed to win in five sets after a epic four hour twenty six minute battle-- And as soon as the match ended , Federer had a court side interview with former champion Jim Courier about the match-- Federer was all smiles , no sign of exhaustion after the long match-- Some champion indeed to play a long match and do a interview right after with a nice smile with no irritation
