DVD Auto
I was wandering with my/friend's family/ near the lake at Yercaud-- We had decided to walk down from our hotel to the lake area and after a while the kids refused to walk back-- We looked for a auto -- and found a interesting one with inscription titled "DVD Auto " at the front and back of the auto-- Wanted to check it out and it was a great trip to the hotel- We had the experience of dealing with a person who was kind , courteous and who wanted to make the customers happy- The DVD player with the screen just above the driver's seat , played to old songs and we watched and listened to them as we reached our hotel- The driver requested us to watch till the song was over. I asked him what made him fit this-- he wanted to be different and wanted his customers to enjoy the ride-- It costed him around 20 k to do the monitor , the speakers and the player-- he was very proud that it was the only auto in Yercaud to have this facility ( I have not seen one anywhere else too )- I asked him about the security of the DVD player-- he told me he locks the vehicle inside a garage for safety-- he thanked us for riding on his vehicle and left.
A pleasant experience indeed which is unusual to get with autos !!
The Nadal- Federer battle on Clay
Roger Federer may the world champion but on clay he needs to find a way to beat Rafel Nadal- On Sunday , Federer lost to Nadal in the best of three sets by one set to two-- Although Federer was up in the first set and serving for it , he somehow found a way to loose the set and the similar pattern followed in the second set. Somehow Federer found a way to win the second set . However Nadal won the third set to win the Hamburg masters for the first time- Federer was the defending champion and at the post match conference promised to harass Nadal at the French open coming up shortly . If one watches , Federer tries very hard to beat Nadal and that may be reason for him to loose- The thing that I have noticed is everyone on clay plays in to the hands of Rafal but playing very hard to beat him and play to suit Nadal !! Not that Nadal is bad player on clay- he plays relentless tennis and is a great retriever and covers the breadth and width of the court- it is going to be a interesting French open grand slam and India will miss its presence as Sania has pulled out due to wrist surgery recovery going on.
IPL
I am just watching all the fun and the excitement going on -- What a big entertainment and crowd puller this event has turned out to be -- Not sure if the organisers expected this to happen but the game has really caught up with the imagination of one and all --Overtime one would find it difficult to watch the one day version of the game as well-
the teams are all well organised in terms of the players , the admn back up, trainers , coaches etc., -- We have had masala as well -- yes Cheer girls squads-- CEO getting sacked for non performance of his team - owners trying to motivate the team by being in the dressing room - players not getting paid by the team and so on-- and not to forget Bhajji being part of the action for which he is now very famous ( mercifully his suspension helped Mumbai Indians drop him and get the right talent !! And they are on a roll ever since that incident )
One can take this event up as a paper for research --All credit to Lalit Modi for staging this coup and probably pushing the rival ICL out of the competitiveness. Not sure if this could have organised and arranged so well as it has been done by any other nation- Just goes to show that we have the skill , infrastructure to stage big time events- So far no complaints on any area of the event and that itself is amazing..
