Piyush Parmar won a Japanese medal for this photograph bit all that he got through the India Post was an open cover with a message that the medal was being sent to him. Officials at the post office told him that tracing the medal would be difficult if the cover was opened before it reached them. Interestingly, the title of Parmar's picture is " it happens only in India " !!

To ease their trouble, the BMC has promised to install pedestrians push button that would activate the " walk " signal at crossings as in many western countries. The Indian national anthem was played out at the final A1 GP race of the season - Narain Karthikeyan drove a good race to finish on top of the podium at Branda Hatch circuit in Great Britain-- It is always a wonderful moment to hear your national anthem being played at a international event and Narain has managed to do that twice this year wining at China and yesterday at Great Britain- Swiss won the overall title followed by New Zealand and Great Britain- India finished tenth overall which is tremendous improvement over the previous year where they brought up the rear- total teams that participated were from twenty two nations - For comparisons this race has drivers from Formula one circuit ( people who did not find a team in Formula one and people also move in from this category to Formula one - Nelson Piquet current Renault driver was driving for Brazil before he moved to Renault )

Manchester United took giant steps in doing a double -- On Tuesday ( Wed early morning India time they beat Barcelona by 1 -0 to move in the final of the Championship league-- they will meet Chelsea in the final- Manu solidly defended a 14th minute goal by veteran Paul Scholes- Barca raided ManU time and again but the ManU defence held on- In fact Barca had more possession than ManU through out the match and played aggressive attacking football only.
In the premier league , Manu playing with ten men for most of the time beat nemesis West Ham by a resounding 4-1 .. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and from then on Manu dominated the game and never allowed West Ham in to the match- Just one more game to go and if ManU win that next Sunday , they will be crowned EPL champions for the second year in running and with the championship final coming up on May 21, they have a great opportunity to do what all clubs would like. Win the league title locally and also the European Championship

The China Moto GP was the fourth of this year- Valentino Rossi the seven time world champion has been having a hard time- he lost the title in 2006 to American Nicky Hayden and 2007 was totally outpaced by Casey Stoner of Ducati-- Rossi seemed finally to find his instinct and pace on the track and in a great exhibition of Moto bike racing overtook his rivals to finish 1st- looks a interesting duel on the cards as the season moves ahead for the balance of the races..
