Week end event at the Rotary
Rotary clubs are not only known for their contribution to the society but for the fellowship and family participation events. And that is one the things that makes Rotary works-- The entire family gets involved and so all the more better-- over the last week end we had a great event -- It was a Karaoke musical event and most of us had a gorgeous time belting out numbers looking at the audio visual screen ( reading out )- there was a professional touches as well as our club has very good singers-- So it was mix of great songs and very poorly rendered ones-- But all in good fun- One of our members daughter is a RJ on Aahha FM - Chandini and she runs the " Ghane Anjane " program ( one of the rare sessions in FM's that plays only Hindi songs ) and other programs as well- So the event went on and ended with great dinner and fellows(h )ip as well - yours truly could not render his piece due to sore throat and cold ( else the audience would have discovered a great singer ) !1
We should do these Karaoke sometime amongst us and will be amazed at our singing capability
Cricket
With the cold that I was suffering from , I thought I will spend time watching India play over the week end -- But did not expect them to wind up and crumble on Saturday leaving my Sunday open. I can give my opinion on the way India played -- if Srilanka could score 600 runs against a attack that boasts of two great spinners , we presume that the wicket played neutral -- however Indian batsmen played in to the hands of the SL spinners and gave up meekly-- There is so much of hype and terror that is being generated on a bowler who is playing is first test and has nothing to prove that he is a menace -- If we look in to the past , Warne nor Murali or Kumble for that matter came in with such hype of a mystery spinner , the carrom ball man etc etc., - We are very good in creating excuses and also in nurturing talent outside of our country and that is what we did with Mendis on his debut--
With all the frustration , will we give up following Cricket -- never is the answer of a ever optimist Indian Cricket fan and that includes me as well
