A weekend Trip --

My family joined me over the week end at Coimbatore following my business trip on Friday --
I was looking at options and decided to take a risk- The Hindu newspaper in August 2009 had covered this resort and i was tempted by the write up -- It was risk that i took that paid off --

Ambraa River Resorts on the Pollachi - Trichur road ( roughly 10 Kms away from Pollachi ) is a fantastic place to cool off -- Hidden in the coconut groves , with the Aliyar river flowing on the back side of the resort it is best getaway from noise and to remain with the nature -- Although the resort has only six rooms 9 read cottages ) , the rooms are equipped well - The beds are cosy , the fridge, the mini bar (no alcohol ) is loaded , the aircon functions (when you need it ) , the television is hooked up and there is a generator back up as well -- A lovely balcony gives you view of the river and the swimming pool that is coming up -- the restaurant has all the works and the package includes a sumptuous breakfast that one cannot imagine at this remote place - There is a playing area for the children with the normal swings and slides -- peacocks roam around at times - Everything seems to have been thought about and cared for at this small little resort-- It is a miracle all these have been done at a remote place ...

Rates are reasonable and they vary depending on whether it is a week day or a weekend -- Staff are very courteous and always helpful -- You could do lot of walking around amidst the greenery without getting to see anyone --
Quick getaways from this resort could be the Topslip/ Parambikulam forest reserves , Aliyar Dam ., Monkey falls , valparai etc.,
Had also great time with Babu and his family on Sunday evening with great dinner and of course help on Shopping for my wife ( most important part of the trip )

Here is a link to photos ... enjoy viewing and do plan a trip--
